Pure essential oils have a wide range of therapeutic uses and benefits. The method applied can affect your results.

First, please remember that essential oils should never be applied neat (undiluted) to your skin. There are absolutely NO exceptions to this! This includes the soles of your feet or palms of your hands. When using oils neat for inhalation purposes please exercise care and dispense your oils on a tissue or cotton ball for direct inhalation.

CARRIER OILS for diluting essential oils is the primary method used in the USA and England for enjoying the benefits of essential oils. Carrier oils inhibit the rapid evaporation rate of essential oils and allow for the safe application of essential oils to the skin.

GUIDE FOR STANDARD DILUTION OF ESSENTIAL OILS FOR SAFE SKIN APPLICATION:

Essential Oil (EO)

Adults ~ 15 drops EO in 30 mls or 1 ounce carrier oil

Children age 18 ~ 10 drops EO in 30 mls or 1 ounce carrier oil

Children age 10-18 ~ 6-9 drops EO in 30 mls or 1 ounce carrier oil

5-10 years age ~ 5 drops EO in 30 mls or 1 ounce carrier oil

4 year age, elderly & infirm ~ 4 drops EO in 30 mls or 1 ounce carrier oil

3 year age ~ 3 drops EO in 30 mls or 1 ounce carrier oil

2 year age ~ 2 drops EO in 30 mls or 1 ounce carrier oil

Newborn – 2 years age ~ 1 drop in 30 mls or 1 ounce carrier oil

“German Chamomile is the only oil I always feel comfortable and confident to use with my pregnant Moms and Newborn babies!” ~ KG

Properly administered essential oils are a natural, safe and effective way to enhance your health and well-being and can produce satisfying results where other methods have failed. Please consult with your physician regarding your health concerns.

KG has utilized essential oils in her energy medicine practice for more than 30 years. During that time she has facilitated healing for thousands of people suffering from personal trauma, illness and injury. Through her unique AromaTest(TM) system KG formulates essential oil blends that heal.

PLEASE NOTE: There are many cheap chemical copies of essential oils available, but these are not recommended for therapeutic use. For best results always use ethically wild crafted or pure, organic essential oils that are pesticide free!

Trends in health and beauty are placing more trust in the efficacy of natural and organic ingredients. Skin care is no exception, with more women coming to realize the purity of what they put on their skin is as important as that of what they eat. The skin is the largest organ, and is generally permeable to substances placed on it. This is particularly important in healing wounds, for the skin may be broken and more sensitive. Enter essential oils; these powerful plant derived medicines have been used for many years for treating skin conditions, enhancing beauty and promoting wellness. Oils have been found particularly useful for regenerating skin that has suffered from accidents or surgery, or has their remaining signs in the form of keloid, acne, or other scars. Certain essential oil blends can speed healing time, reduce or eliminate scars from recent wounds and even greatly diminish the appearance of old ones.

There are a few primary essential oils used in skin care which offer their regenerative properties; these oils can be used in low concentrations, and are generally well-tolerated – certainly more so than many synthetic ingredients. The most important of these may be Helichrysum italicum, also known as Everlasting oil. This wonderful oil is distilled from the daisy-like flowers of the herb. It has a lovely earthy aroma and, despite it’s apparent expense, works in very low concentrations (only a few drops per tablespoon of your total blend). Helichrysum is strongly anti-inflammatory and contains powerful regenerative molecules unique to this oil only.

Helichrysum is the foundation of many blends for healing the skin, and can be used by itself in a synergistic carrier oil such as Rosehip seed. This combination may be all that is needed to speed the healing of recent wounds – though often a little Lavender oil is added as well. Kurt Schnaubelt, one of America’s leading aromatherapists notes in his quintessential guide “Advanced Aromatherapy” that Helichrysum essential oil and Rosehip seed can “heal wounds with minimal or no scarring”.

As mentioned above, Lavender is often included in skin care blends – it has gentle anti-inflammatory and tissue regenerative properties, along with very soothing, anti-anxiety aroma. Lavender essential oil itself began the modern aromatherapy revolution when a scientist burned his hand in a laboratory accident, and after cooling the wound in a beaker of Lavender found the wound to heal remarkably quickly. It is also thought to ‘synergize’ or improve the efficacy of other essential oils in combination.

The essential oil distilled from common Sage leaves is also used in the healing of scars, particularly old or unsightly scars. It’s natural regenerative properties and ability to promote circulation aid in gently breaking down the tough skin resulting from wound healing. Sage oil should only be used in these instances and in small quantities, as it’s Thujone content can be toxic in high quantities. If used in a recipe for stretch marks (see below), it should only be used post-partum. Despite it’s powerful components, however, when diluted and used with respect, one can use this oil safely.

Rosemary will be the final essential oil we’ll mention here for scar treatment. For the skin, Rosemary of the Verbenone chemotype has many important properties – it contains regenerative ketone molecules, and stimulates cellular metabolism. This oil helps new skin form, bringing nutrients into the cells and supports the removing toxins and wastes.

The essential oils mentioned here must be diluted in a carrier oil for daily application. In aromatherapy, more is not better! There have been numerous studies showing the great efficacy of essential oils in low concentrations based in seed or nut carrier oils. The two most commonly used base oils for skin care are Rosehip seed and Hazelnut oils. Rosehip seed has many documented uses in skin care, with it’s triple-unsaturated fatty acids and it’s vitamin A compounds. Rosehip seed has the ability to support tissue regeneration like Retin A, but without the drying or redening side effects. Hazelnut oil is the most well tolerated of all the carrier oils, and with its mild astringent properties, can even be used in cases of very oily skin. It will tend to leave the skin feeling nourished without feeling greasy.

So how does one mix these natural botanicals for particular uses? There are a few simple but effective recipes specifically for wound healing and scar reduction. For old keloid or acne scars, use one ounce each of Hazelnut and Rosehip seed oils – to this, add one milliliter of Helichrysum Italicum essential oil and Sage officinalis essential oil. Apply regularly for three to six months for best results. For more recent cuts, scrapes, and even surgical incisions (that have reached the point where they are safe to get moist), use the same Hazelnut and Rosehip seed blend, adding one milliliter of Helichrysum and one milliliter of Lavender (Lavendula angustifolia). Apply twice a day while the wound is healing. For the reduction and possible elimination of stretch marks post partum, again to one ounce each of Hazelnut and Rosehip seed oils, add one milliliter Sage and one milliliter Rosemary verbenone. Like the formula for old scars, use this regularly for several months.

So there is a few effective combinations of natural botanical ingredients that can support certain skin care conditions. Many, many more skin care formulas are available when blending essential oils – with many oils able to aid with very particular situations. If needed, a little research should go a long way in helping you find what you need. And as always with aromatherapy oils, go slowly, pay attention to your body’s reactions and remember that increasing concentrations of the essential oils will not make a more effective blend. Be safe and enjoy.

“We are responsible for everything in our lives, including how the chemistry in our bodies works or doesn’t work.” Wayne Dyer’s words hit me like a bolt of lightening as I listened to his taped book, You’ll See It When You Believe It.

Throughout the years, I had suffered tremendously with bouts of allergies and asthma; it wasn’t until that moment that I had a confirmation I could eliminate my allergy problems. The asthma attacks had been under control since leaving the mid west where I was born and raised. This move eliminated contact with cattle hair and grain dust and other pollens indigenous to the area, which I had extreme allergic reactions with.

I often spoke, to anyone who would listen, about how the mind heals the body or allows the body to become ill. This knowledge was based on my thoughts, reading and research. As I spoke about my ‘belief/knowledge’ my bouts with allergies hung heavy in my mind. In all of my reading, nothing clicked as a solution until that moment in September 1989. I was 47 years old. As I had learned while studying transactional analysis, Dr. Dyer, also, held the premise: “We are responsible for everything in our lives.” “OK, Wayne,” I said, “I agree. Now what? How can I take responsibility for the chemistry in my body when my immune system is damaged? My immune system contains chemicals,” I reminded myself. “I am responsible for those chemicals doing their job. What am I doing or not doing that is responsible for the chemicals not doing their job?” I asked myself fervently.

A few days later I began, in earnest, to be a detective. I revisited myself as an infant in the crib. With much satisfaction and pride, my father has told the story that he knew how to quiet a howling infant. With his hand, big and muscular from working as a cattle rancher, he ‘patted my back with three or four hard, quick pats, ‘You,’ he proudly announced, ‘stopped howling. You seemed to like it,’ he concluded, ‘because you always stopped howling.’

My father was physically abused as a child, and he carried the legacy into his parenting. He did not consider the ‘hard quick pats’ on my tiny back as abusive, nor would anyone necessarily consider either of us as abused at the time of our upbringings; some people would not consider it abuse today. In the days of my father’s childhood, and those of my own, this type of behavior with a child was viewed as stringent discipline for a child obviously needing corrective action. However, with certainty, my abuse began when I was an infant in the bassinet. As I revisited my infancy and childhood, no new memories came forth. This was frustrating. I had not found any new clues. “Chemicals. I am responsible for my chemicals. How can I take responsibility for those chemicals?” The answer seemed elusive, but I was determined. “Chemicals? What mechanism triggers the release of my chemicals?”

“Ye gads! The brain. The brain sends messages to all systems in the body. The portion of the brain that controls the chemicals is often called ‘the old brain’: it is the ‘fight-flight’ mechanism that instantaneously (no need for conscious command) sends chemicals so the system can ‘fight or flee.’
“So what has that got to do with allergies?” I asked myself. “Allergies, allergies, allergy attack, allergy attack–am I getting somewhere? I am being attacked by pollen–so? What is the link between allergy attacks and being an abused child? Allergy attack–allergy attack.” Days and weeks passed. I repeatedly mulled the thought, “Allergy attack, child abuse, allergy attack, child abuse: there is a link. I know there is a link. What is the link?”

When the human system is attacked by something, the immune system instantaneously sends chemicals to fight the invasion. “My system is damaged since being frightened as an infant,” I lamented. “What can I do now? I am responsible for the chemicals in my body,” I reminded myself. “How do I make a system work that has been damaged? If my brain controls the chemicals and my thoughts control my brain, I can control those chemicals. Nevertheless,
how can I control the chemicals? The link-where is the link?”

I began thinking about the incidents of physical abuse. I saw my father’s menacing figure coming at me–his face red, hand raised, swearing and shouting. Whack, his large hand hit the side of my head. ATTACK! My father attached me verbally and physically. There is the link! Allergy attack’s verbal/physical attack–the two had emerged in my psyche as the same.

To understand the physiological and psychological construct, one needs to accept the reality that the physical body and psyche are intertwined. One is not separate from the other. To understand the emergence of allergy attacks with verbal or physical attacks in my psyche, we need to discern my experience as an infant in the bassinet. The five senses: hearing, sight, smell, taste, and touch are an infant’s only means of understanding their world and communicating. Three of the five senses are activated by the technique such as my father’s to quiet a howling infant: The infant hears the father’s footsteps and, in the first instance, assumes that someone is coming to comfort her. The father says, ‘Be quiet [shut up];’ in a loud voice; simultaneously the impact of a hard, quick pat is registered (touch). The shock of the loud voice (hearing) and hard pat (touch) is reacted to by a restriction in crying (breathing)–breathing and smell are synonymous.

The shock of the loud voice and physical impact has knocked the breath from the infant. When the infant’s autonomic system reactivates breathing, the infant breathes in the smell of cattle hair and grain odor, which permeates the father’s clothes. In many instances, the mother responds to the crying infant; however, the infant is unable to distinguish when the mother or father will respond. Therefore, the infant soon recognizes the footsteps of the father, but has no way to escape. Her fight and flight mechanism is triggered, and chemicals surge through her body requiring additional oxygen as her heart rate and breathing increase. As she attempts to bring in oxygen, she simultaneously constricts her crying; the two conflict with each other. This causes swelling in the bronchial system, which is how asthma is manifested–restricted bronchial passage.

Not withstanding, humans have evolved with immunities to the elements that are common to the environment. With rare exceptions, the human immune system, as a chemically functioning system, is adequate to protect the organism. In an experience such as mine, the infant’s psyche is being imprinted through three of the five senses. This leaves a powerful impact. As in my case, cattle hair and grain odors are associated with fear and not being able to breathe. Thus, my asthma/allergies became a physical reaction to fear, distress and the sensation associated with any strong smells. I remember experiencing asthma attacks when I was anticipating a stressful situation involving my father or if he verbally attacked me.

Through listening to my past feelings and watching my reactions, I accepted the reality that my immune system had been damaged. The doctors also told me my immune system was ineffective, but they blamed it on a fact of genetics fluke, something I had to accept. I dutifully accepted my fate; after all, doctors know the human body and are healers-they know best. The next step, I began observing my physical reactions whenever I started having allergic reactions. “What did I tell myself-what did I tell my brain?

My brain has the power to send chemicals to my immune system. Why weren’t my chemicals there when I needed them?” I observed and observed. One day I noticed a very subtle body sensation, so subtle that I hardly noticed its presence. The body sensation was so faint and so far away. I barely captured it. “What was the origin of this faint sensation? Listen carefully, listen, observe, listen. Yes, yes, there it is: Shut down, shutdown, do not move, do not think, do not feel, do not react, you cannot do anything, shutdown.’” My heartbeat seemed so still. It was very faint. I took my pulse and had a hard time finding it. “How is that connected to my chemicals? How is that connected to my immune chemicals not being sent?” I continued to listen and observe my body’s reaction to smells.

Ye gads! The thought came into my mind. My fight-flight command was not being activated. Instead, I was telling my fight-flight system to shut down. WHAT? The fight-flight mechanism is fundamental to the survival of the system. I was telling mine to shut down. My mind then wandered back to the incident when my father attempted to chase me with the horse. I realized that was the time I shut my fight-flight system down more than it had ever been shut down. “Do not move, do not move, do not think, do not feel, do not react, you cannot do anything, shut down.” My heart stood still as the horse jolted to a stop in front of me, his hot breath blowing in my face. From that point on, I remember not feeling the pain when my father hit me. I was completely shut down.

As the days passed, I continued to listen to and observe my breathing. As I observed, I became aware that I became passive when a sneeze was an allergic sneeze. The thought was, “There is nothing you can do, the pollen attacks and you are in a lot of pain and feel sick and can hardly function, but it only lasts a short time. Withstand the pain–keep going–it will pass.” As a child, I could not fight or flee. Emotionally, to survive the verbal and physical attacks, I became passive by telling myself, “The best course of action is to do nothing.” This thought process subconsciously blocked the transference of survival chemicals to protect my system from danger. When the chemicals were sent, I could feel the bone-chilling pain before and after the assault. I did not like this chilling pain and, therefore, instructed myself to shut down.

Eureka, the final link! I had trained my brain to stop sending the fundamental fight-flight chemicals used to protect the system. No wonder the doctor gave me adrenaline shots when my natural chemicals did not work. Adrenaline is the major chemical the immune system sends to fight or flee. The next step was to monitor the messages I gave myself when I sneezed. The pattern was consistent-I became very passive, I could feel my senses shut down. All my muscles relaxed, no outward emotion. Nothing! I listened, observed and listened. After many years of telling my brain to shut down, learning to fight back was not easy. It was so natural to shut down. Nevertheless, I listened and every time I felt myself shut down, I gave a command to fight back. I visualized the chemicals rushing into the blood stream and throughout my body. I practiced and practiced. Gradually, I noticed a difference in the severity and the duration of allergy attacks. Spring 1990 arrived (a usually difficult season, as I was allergic to tree and grass pollens): no sneezing, no watery eyes, no coughing. Eureka! I did it. I did it! This was and remains a physical and psychological victory with extensive implications. I wanted to shout from the rooftops. I wanted to tell everyone–Metaphysical healing works!!

With each passing pollen season, I have been increasingly allergy-free. For three years, it was necessary that I consciously made the effort to ‘remind’ myself to fight back. I do not need to have total concentration anymore. In addition, if I have allergic reactions to manufactured elements, I do not hold myself responsible for generating the immune system to fight back. This is due to the fact that the immune system protects the system from natural elements; if I held myself responsible for eliminating all allergic reactions, I could set up unrealistic demands and constitute an unrealistic psychological failure as well.

A note of caution for anyone who may think I have described this process as simple and easy: it was very difficult and required concentration, commitment and dedication. During the beginning stage of recovery, any distractions resulted in reduction in concentration as well as reduction in effectiveness. This was discouraging at times and I heard myself saying, “See you cannot really change this damage, you are not as good as you think you are.” This was an example of all the negating and demoralizing things my father said to me. It occurred to me, I was allowing other people’s words to control what I could or could not accomplish today, and I became even more determined.

There are various ways to tackle many of the allergic disturbances. First, the sources must be identified. This is a difficult but not impossible task. Second, once the sources are discovered, they should be avoided. Third, and most important, general health and resistance should be built up to establish immunity to them.

There are two methods to detect disturbing foods. The first method is the trial-and-error elimination diet. This automatically eliminates many hazards and foods. Keep to organic, untreated, unprocessed foods as far as possible and you will eliminate another set of hazards such as pesticides, various sprays and other poisons. After having eliminated as many disturbing factors as possible, a self-search should be carried out to ascertain any suspicious symptoms from foods. It is advisable to try an eliminary diet, excluding suspected foods for two weeks until the cause is detected. Occasionally, by changing the brand or the type, you can find a food substitute that does not upset you.

Another way to detect the cause of allergy is by Dr. Coca’s “pulse test.” The method is as follows: Check your pulse before a meal. Then limiting that meal to one food only, wit for half an hour after eating and take your pulse again. A slight increase is considered normal, even up to 16 extra beats. If your pulse does not rise above 84, you may be allergy-free. But if your pulse rises beyond that point, and remains high an hour after the meal, you have found your food allergy.

The best way, however, to prevent or overcome allergies is to strengthen the overall physical resistance so as not to fall an easy prey to every allergen that comes along. To start with, the patient should fast on fresh fruit juices for four or five days. Repeated short juice fasts are likely to result in better tolerance to previous allergies. After the fruit juice fast, the patient can take a mono diet of vegetables or fruits such as carrots, grapes or apples, for one week. After that one more food is added to the mono diet. A week later the third food is added and so on. After four weeks, the protein foods can be introduced, one at a time. In case an allergic reaction to a newly introduced food is noticed, it should be discontinued and a new food tried. In this way all real allergens can be eventually eliminated from the diet.

The body requires a large alkaline reserve for its daily activity. The many emergencies of acid formation through the day from wrong foods, fatigue, mental stress and lack of sleep can be met by the competency of the alkaline reserves. Boosting the normal body reserve of alkalines by liberal use of alkaline- forming foods is essential for those suffering from allergies. The foods which should be excluded from the diet are tea, coffee, chocolate, cola drinks, alcohol, sugar, sweets and foods containing sugar, refined cereals, meats, fish, chicken, tobacco, milk, cheese, butter, smoked, salted, pickled foods and foods containing any chemical additives, preservatives and flavouring. These foods cause either toxic accumulations or over-stimulation of adrenal glands or strain on pancreatic enzymes production or disturb the blood sugar balance.

For preventive purposes, the entire C complex vitamins – known as the bioflavonoids, are recommended. They gradually strengthen cell permeability to help immunise the body from various allergies, especially hay fever. Often the addition B5 , or pantothenic acid brings great relief to allergy sufferers. Multiple allergies may result from poor adrenal gland functioning. In such cases liberal amounts of pantothenic acids help cure them, although the recovery will take several weeks. An adequate intake of vitamin E is also beneficial as this vitamin possesses effective anti-allergic properties, as some studies have shown.

An exciting remedy for allergy has been discovered by an Indian physician, Dr. Hement Pathak. He found that the use of five drops of castor oil in a little juice or water taken on an empty stomach in the morning, is highly beneficial for allergies in the intestinal tract, skin and nasal passages. Dr. Pathak, who is an expert in Chinese medicine, has reported numerous cases of allergic protection by this method. For allergic conditions in which an element of stress is present, it is essential to employ such methods as relaxation, exercise, meditation and mind control. These methods will reduce or remove stress and thereby contribute towards the treatment of allergies. Yogic asanas like yogamudra ardhmatsyendrasana, sarvangasana, shavasana and anuloma-viloma, pranayama are also beneficial.

In today’s fast-moving society, we are all under tremendous pressure to keep up with life. Most of the working people juggle among work, kids, family, paying bills and other matters with limited time every day. People often forget that in order to fulfill the mandates in life, you need to have enough energy by maintaining a healthy life style with good healthy diet and enough exercise on a consistent basis. It is often too late and expensive in terms of money and time to seek medical treatment on an emergency basis when health problems occur for many of the health related issues can be easily resolved, minimized or even prevented by just eating well and having some routine physical activities.

But exactly how much time should you spend on exercise every day or every other day so that you can be healthy and happy to get on with your lives? What types of physical activities are suitable for you? The answer is it varies with people. Some people need and can spend a lot of time in the gym or outdoors doing different kinds of exercises to burn calories without feeling tired easily, but for some, twenty minutes a day may be just about the right among to keep healthy and energetic. In general, younger people should do more intense physical movements such as running, basketball, workout in the gym; while older people should minimize the impact certain exercise may have on your knees and other joints of your body. Yoga, swimming or may be just walking would be perfect for the older groups.

When it comes to exercise, one of the common and easiest excuses people have is time or lack of it. You often hear people say “I don’t have time to do it”. It may be too harsh to accept that it is just another way of saying “I am lazy” but there is a lot of truth to it. Because exercise often doesn’t mean you need to have several hours of blocked time, to go to the gym, to have all the nice equipment and gears around and or to have a companion. You can do it in piece mill, 3 minutes here and 5 minutes there. It is the accumulative effect that will work in your advantage in the long run.

For instance, it only requires you to have about 10 square feet of space at your home and 5 minutes of your time to do some yoga poses and you can do it while you are reading or watching TV. You don’t need to sign up for yoga classes, some good yoga books will get you started in the right direction. You can buy yoga books, DVDs or just borrow them from your local libraries if money is your primary concern.

The bottom line is that there are so many ways to exercise for any amount at any reasonable location. I like Nike’s slogan in their commercials “Just Do it!” If you have the right attitude and want to stay healthy, you will get out of the “I don’t have time” mode eventually, once that happens, it opens the door for a better life ahead of you!

The term “dosha” arises from Ayurveda and is translated to mean a person’s physical and emotional constitutional nature. There are three doshas: Vata, Pitta and Kapha. An individual is comprised of a combination of these three constitutions. When any one of these doshas is out of balance, an individual can experience disease and a general sense of being unwell physically and/or mentally. Both the systems of Ayurveda and Yoga help to balance each dosha for optimal health. Ayurvedic doctors will recommend a combination of Yoga exercises, daily massage, dietary guidelines and herbal medicines to restore a healthy balance and rejuvenate a Yogi or Yogini’s overall sense of well-being.

Physically, an individual whose primary dosha is Kapha in nature will have thick hair, glowing skin and large eyes. He or she will also generally sleep regularly and have steady digestion. Emotionally, Kaphas are reputed to be loving, loyal, thoughtful, supportive, steady and kind. Kapha individuals do well with routine. When a Kapha individual is out of balance, he or she may become lethargic and too weighted down with possessions, jobs and relationships that have long outlived their usefulness. Kaphas can be very stubborn and resistant to change, which may prevent the individual from really creating the life of his or her dreams. Kapha individuals are often prone to low energy levels and depression.

Yoga poses that help to balance and invigorate an individual whose constitution is primarily Kapha in nature are vigorous standing poses, backbends, arm balances and practices employing ashtanga-based Yoga sequences. When a Kapha dosha person is out of balance, his or her energy may become stagnant. Practicing Yoga asanas and breathing exercises that generate heat and increase circulation throughout the entire body will help to dissipate the lethargy that Kapha individuals often experience.

Before practicing vigorous standing Yoga poses, backbends or arm balances, it is imperative that a Yogi or Yogini warm-up with several rounds of Sun Salutations, preferably while practicing Ujjayi breathing. There are many online sources that offer detailed descriptions of a variety of Sun Salutations including both Surya Namaskar A and B. After warming up well, a Kapha individual may want to focus on flowing from one pose to the next through a challenging vinyasa practice. Linking the poses together through a vinyasa sequence while practicing Ujjayi breathing will invigorate the entire body, helping to enliven and balance both the body and mind of an individual whose primary dosha is Kapha.

The blessing to lead a healthy and trouble free life is something we all wish for. Regardless of the caste, creed, community or country an individual belongs to; the need to have a healthy body is of utmost importance if the person wishes to experience the true nectar of life. However, in order to achieve a perfectly healthy body, you need to take care of a number of visible and obscure threats. Especially when we talk about those who suffer from respiratory allergies, the need for special care is even more important. Not only they are required to take care of pollution and dust outside their home, they need to take care of the allergens found inside the homes as well.

Thanks to the development of allergy free bedding covers, the lives of those dealing with respiratory allergies can become a whole lot healthier as well as trouble free. Though it may be a lesser known fact, it is true that the dust from the bedding and the mattresses we sleep on is one of the main triggers causing respiratory allergy attacks. By using allergy restricting covers on the upholstery we use, we can definitely give ourselves a great shield against the wicked allergen hiding inside our upholstery items such as mattresses, bedding, pillows, and the likes.

Now, some of you may have the question that how exactly these covers are any different from the conventional covers being sold in the market. Well, the USP of allergy bedding covers lies in the fabric they are made from. In order to offer considerable resistance to dust particles, the threads of the fabric used are woven in an extremely tight fashion. To give you an idea about how different such fabrics are from conventional fabrics, it is safe to say that the pore size of regular fabrics vary from 7 to 12 microns, whole anti-allergy fabric has 0 to 10 micron pore sizes.

When it comes to giving yourself and your dear ones complete protection from the dust residing in home upholstery items, it is important that you use all types of allergy free covers available in the market, Besides the much sought after allergy free bedding covers, it is recommended that you go for allergy free mattress encasing, waterproof bed cover, pillow covers, bed sheets, and other upholstery covers available in the market. Furthermore, no matter whether you need to buy allergy free bedding or allergy free mattress encasing, always shop from a trusted source.

Are you bothered by skin problems? If so you are definitely not alone. Skin problems of some kind are among the most common complaints of adults and teens. Proper treatment and care help correct various skin problems.

1. Acne condition – you are probably aware that acne is one of the most common complexion complaints especially among teens. Why does this problem occur so frequently during the teen years, when appearance is so important?

During maturation, sex glands increase the secretion of hormones, and this produces many body changes. There is noticeable spurt in growth and an increase in body hair. A childish figure begins changing into that of an adult at the same time these hormones stimulate the oil glands to produce more sebum. This extra oil causes the acne problem.

Acne cannot be prevented or cured but it can be controlled, in most cases acne clears by itself after the teen years but don’t wait yourself or your teen outgrow the acne it is better to get help as early as possible.

2. Boils – When bacteria that cause pimples penetrate all the layers of the skin, an infection called boils will develop. This tissue surrounded by pus that is compose of living, dead bacteria and white blood cells. Like pimples boils should not be squeezed because once you did it will spread the infection all over the skin and increase damage.

3. Warts – often warts appear as horny, raised growths on the epidermis. Warts are caused by a virus that can be contacted anywhere. Up to this time there are no drugs that could kill virus. Mostly warts appear on the face but it can grow anywhere particularly in warm moist areas. It can easily spread around the body and multiply rapidly because it is contagious. Doctor’s advice is important to eliminate this problem. A special procedure maybe conducted as per doctor’s advice.

4. Skin Spots – White spots, also known as vitiligo are patches where the skin fails to produce melanin. There is no explanation so far why this condition occurs. There are special drugs that said to have success in treating this disorder however covering the spots with cosmetics are more practical.

5. Moles – are excess pigment and slight overgrowth of epidermis and dermis. Usually moles with light and dark brown colors are harmless but you should be alarmed if the mole is black or blue because it can be dangerous. Moles can be develop into skin cancer anytime so it is best to consult your doctor especially when you notice rapid changes in your mole like change in color, bleeding or irritation.

6. Cold Sores – also known as herpes simplex type 1 in medical term. Herpes is the virus that produces cold sores also known as fever blisters. This virus remains dormant in skin until a cold or fever stimulates it. Such sores begin as collections of fluid in the upper layers of the skin. Later they form crusts. Although cold sores can appear in any part of the body but it commonly occur on the lips or mouth. It is best to consult the doctor to avoid complications and have better remedy.

7. Chaps and Burns – Outdoor exposure may cause chaps and burns. Exposure to wind and cold can cause the red and stinging skin of a chap or windburn due to drying of epidermis. To prevent these condition apply skin creams, lotions or oils into the skin before exposing yourself or if you have been expose application of these solutions may help soothe the dry areas. A more serious problem however is frostbite. It needs proper first aid and medical attention.

Sunburn – is caused by skin too much exposure to sunlight. The sun’s ultraviolet rays can penetrate even clouds and cause severe burn if the skin is over expose. Sun blocks offer the greatest protection against burning and tanning. They contain high concentration of an acid called PABA.

8. Skin Scales (Psoriasis) is a skin disease that appears as patches of red, raised skin and silver scales of dead epidermis. It is most common on scalp, elbows, knees, and outer surfaces of arms and legs. It can last a short or a long time and it appear and disappear in cycles. Psoriasis seems less severe in the summer than in winter because oil glands are more active during warm weather. The exact cause of psoriasis is unknown however, prescribed creams, ointments, lotions or skin therapy can control it.

9. Allergic Reactions – If something you eat or smell makes you itch or a jewelry you wear causes your skin to rash, this is the implication that you have allergy. Allergy is the reaction of the body tissue to irritating substance. Allergic reactions depend on individual body to react. A strawberry can be a delicious dessert to a person but it cause allergy to another person. People with the same allergy can have different allergic reactions. It may experience severe or mild reaction. There can be vomiting, nausea and diarrhea or slight itching, redness and swelling of the skin and mucous membranes. If the reaction is severe it may collapse of the circulatory system, heart failure and even death.

10. Eczema – many people believe that eczema is a specific disease but this condition is an example of strong allergic reaction. Many substances can produce eczema but the reactions to each one are similar: redness, swelling, crusting and scaling of skin. Minute blister also form within the epidermis and ooze a clear fluid.

Although flying is the most convenient and comfortable way to travel, it is not always relaxing and hassle-free. There are many things that can ruin your air travel experience. If you have heavy luggage that you prefer not to check-in, it can be exhausting to lug it around the airport. Also, standing in a long line at the security checkpoint can certainly make you feel frustrated. Air travel also has its share of unpleasant surprises, such as flight delays, which can be as long as a few hours.

When you have to wait a long time for your delayed or connecting flight, you will begin to understand the importance of airport amenities. All airports have snack bars, cafes, and shopping outlets that can help you kill some time, but you probably do not want to spend too much time in these places. If you look around a little more, you may find that the airport has a massage kiosk. Nowadays, you can find massage kiosks and spas in many airports around the world, and they offer a wide range of massage and salon services.

A massage is exactly what you need to get rid of the stress that comes with air travel. If you are feeling bogged down because of exhaustion, frustration, or anxiety, you can rejuvenate your body and mind with a good massage. Massage can relief tension, stiffness, and pain in your muscles and joints, and it can improve your blood circulation as well, giving you complete relaxation and rejuvenation. It is especially beneficial if you have just arrived from or are boarding a long haul flight, because long hours of sitting can result in problems such as cramps, swollen feet, stiff shoulders, and others. A good massage can prevent and alleviate these problems.

An airport massage kiosk can come in several different forms. While some kiosks only offer chair massage and table massage, others provide full spa services. If you do not have a lot of time to spare, chair massage is the best option for you. To receive a chair massage, you have to sit in a specially designed chair with a face cradle, chest pad, and arm rest in front, and the massage therapist will work on your shoulders and back. The entire session can be completed in as little as 15 minutes. A table massage is performed with you lying on a table, and it can be a full-body or partial massage. This kind of massage typically lasts for half an hour or one hour. You can also opt for hand or foot rubs only. A full-service spa offers a variety of massage services, as well as skincare, manicure, sauna, oxygen therapy, and others.

Massage in the airport can be performed with many different techniques, including Swedish, Reiki, Shiatsu, Reflexology, Deep Tissue, Combination, and others. The types of massage that are offered at airport massage kiosks depend on the knowledge and skills of individual therapists, as well as the country or location that you are in. In some cases, you are allowed to choose the massage technique.
